Liberal party Democrats 66 emerges in Netherlands' election
The far-right Party for Freedom (PVV) follows closely with 25 seats, while the liberal People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) is projected to win 23 seats. The left-wing GroenLinks–PvdA alliance is expected to gain 20 seats, and the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) 19 seats.
Given the exit poll’s one-seat margin of error and potential deviations of up to two seats, the contest for the largest party remains too close to call, NOS said. Official results are expected later Wednesday as vote counting continues nationwide.
Among smaller parties, JA21 made significant gains (1 → 9 seats), Forum for Democracy (FvD) increased from 3 to 6 seats, the pro-farming BoerBurgerBeweging (BBB) is projected to drop from 7 to 4, and the Socialist Party (SP) from 5 to 3. New Social Contract (NSC), which previously held 20 seats, is projected to lose all parliamentary representation.
A second exit poll, including later voters, is expected shortly and could slightly alter seat distributions. Final results will be confirmed once the full vote count is completed.
